Winter whites

It has been a pretty grim winter in Shetland so far, with almost continual gales, plenty of rain, and a distinct lack of calm, cold, frosty/snowy conditions. But there is still a little bit of whiteness out there...


Mountain Hare in central mainland Shetland. Turning white in the winter is good camouflage if it snows, but it's not so good against bare peat.
